My Story

And So it Began.................

My name is Elaine aka Missmistye1 aka Paranormal Hampshire

I am a married mother of 5.All my life I have been interested in the paranormal, I remained very sceptical of many of the things that I had heard and read until 1994, (I should rephrase that and say), until it happened to me.

Ahha I hear you say, another nut, well that is what I used to think and sometimes still do but believe me from what I have heard and read of late I know that this is happening and not just to me. My story started in the spring of 1994 at the time my son Harley was 6 months old I also had 4 other children and a sick husband all Dependant on me .

The first thing that happened was a change in my lounge furniture?

I had gone shopping and when I returned home upon entering the lounge I couldn't believe my eyes all of my heavy wooden furniture (wall unit, glass cabinet, coffee table.) had all been moved to different places, hard to believe I hear you say, well that is what I thought and looked for reasons into this occurrence, needless to say at the time I thought someone was playing a prank on me, but as there was no one in the home at the time except my hubby (who is disabled and heard nothing) who could have done this?

Now many of you may think my hubby was behind this but there is no way that he would attempt this ,he has a chronic disease of the spine and also advanced emphysema (at times he can just make the stairs) so this left me with the question who ?? For a while I questioned the reasoning behind this and I must say was left stumped, there wasn't one.

Now not being a person that is easily alarmed I tried to put this to the back of my mind, even though it was a talking point for everyone for days. Two weeks later my daughter, who was 9 at the time, went to go into the lounge, she was unable to open the door? Now there are no locks on the door inside or out and only one way into the room this is through the door, My hubby and I tried the door and also where unable to enter, we started to push and felt the door give a little, I was able to look through the opening and to my amazement found that a armchair and the coffee table had been placed behind the door (on the coffee table there was a vase of flowers which had not been disturbed) I tried to grab the vase but was unable and we gave one almighty shove and the chair and table flew away from the door.

On entering the room nothing else was out of place, at this point I began to panic, I thought we had been burgled as this had to be done from the inside the only way was through the windows, we checked them but found them to be secure (as we live in a rather bad neighbourhood we have double locks on both windows) neither lock had been tampered with?

This was just the start, luckily I have not experienced any phenomena on this scale since maybe this was their way of letting us no they were here?

What we have experienced since is typical (I have been told) of hauntings, the heavy smell of violets, objects (including my sons hearing aids) turning on by themselves, whispering, shadows the dog and cats behaving very strange when these are present. This is not a thing that happens 24/7 it is now and again (normally after my sleep has been interrupted) the following day something will occur ...

of late things are on a on of basis some days activity will be visibly and audibly present other days the electricity within the house (which has been checked by a electrician on several occasions) will blow continually for no reason............

Not only have we got activity within our home but I have had numerous reports from neighbours of activity within their homes ......

All in all this started me of on my quest into the world of the paranormal and the unknown.

There have been times when I have thought that it was useless and the paranormal was so elusive and complex that I wondered if it was time to throw in the towel but something would always happen to give me a nudge forward into the realms of the Paranormal and the Unknown......

Below I have written an Open Letter to whoever wishes to read it on my take on the Paranormal .....

To whom it may concern,

I have decided to address this to whom it may concern because it could be anyone who reads this open letter .I am writing this as I find it is the only way I can get my thoughts and feelings on the paranormal across ,so here goes

I have been asked some bloody stupid questions from some really stupid people over the last few years about the paranormal and I hope I can address some of them now.

I was once asked if a ghost is someone who is dead.

I suspect on occasions it may well be .Most ghost sightings are of people that have passed but what about the ghosts of the living, are they portents sent to warn us of impending doom? then we have my favourite ghost the shadow person ,just a shape that we cant put a face or a name to ,I don’t think there is an answer ,as yet, to what exactly a ghost is and when and if we do find the answer will that suffice our curiosity with it?

Another question I have been asked time and time again is what is a sixth sense?

I know we all have 5 senses so let’s explore mine ……

Sight

Sound

Touch

Taste

Smell

I have seen a ghost so that’s sight………On more than one occasion I have witnessed an apparition face to face

I have heard a ghost so that’s sound…….whispering and names being called when on investigations as well as in my home

I have never touched a ghost but I have had one touch me……..I have been touched on numerous occasion and the most often is pulling on my dress or dressing gown

I have smelt what I can only describe as a ghostly smell…………. lavender and heavy perfume when no one has the fragrance on or it is not in my home

I have certainly never tasted a ghost so that’s taste out …………..how can you taste a ghost …..When you see it do you try to lick its face ….I don’t think so ……..

So we have covered the 5 senses we know of and until a few years ago I would have said that was that ….that was until I had what I can only describe as a knowing …..it came to me in a supermarket of all places …behind the counter stood a young girl who I didn’t know but I knew things about her and made the biggest mistake of my life by asking her these things ,poor girl thought I was a stalker when what I asked her was truth …….how did I know these things ? they were told to me in my mind…..O.K. so you know think men in white coats time …well so did I at the time….but on reflection now it seems weird but logical. I have heard talk of a sense that lays dormant with in all of us. some like to call it psychic others mediumship but I think it’s a natural phenomena that can occur when we least expect it ,I don’t know if there is a reason for this but I do advise if it happens to you don’t ignore it try and understand it . So that’s about it for the sixth sense at the moment.

One of the most stupid questions that I have ever been asked is ….Am I scared of the paranormal.

Of course I am bloody well scared , let me explain this fear the only way I can ……If you jumped out on me my natural reaction would be attack …..It’s in my nature……if a ghost pops up unexpectedly I can’t hit it can I? so then fear takes over ….this is because in my logic if you cant touch it then it isn’t real …….so I suppose my fear comes from my logic and as I am a very logical person normally the paranormal breaks my realm of logic ….you see just because I cant touch it I DO know that ghosts are real ….you work that one out because I cant.

The most annoying question that I get asked is, if the paranormal exists then why don’t we all see it?

I normally reply with “how the bloody hell do I know” and I get some really good replies which takes me into deep and meaningful conversations that lasts for hours and at the end of it the person will do one of 2 things …..they will either agree with me that just because they haven’t experienced it doesn’t mean it isn’t there or otherwise it is well they know that because they haven’t seen it that no way can it exist ,I have yet to meet someone who sits on the fence and has not made their mind up either way………which leads me to me….I believe in certain aspects of the paranormal ,I do not take everything I have seen and witnessed as paranormal ,I would be very egotistical if I thought everything is really paranormal and I am seeing it because I am an investigator .I do like to keep an open mind on these matters and I hate it when people show me pictures and tell me stories and they expect me to agree with them when I can see it is a blade of grass creating their vortex or that the pipes on their central heating need bleeding and the ghostly sounds will stop .

On average I would say that I have about 5 “paranormal “ events within my home in a week but in reality I can only normally class 1-2 of them as truly unexplainable when all logical reasoning is exhausted ………….. Then I have to label it paranormal.

But the most stupid and unbelievable question I have ever been asked must be from an American women on paltalk …….sitting in My Paltalk room one day she pops up and asks me if its possible for a ghost to do the housework ?? I thought she was taking the piss at first but she told me how “her ghost” cleans up after her ……I really had no answer for her but I do know one thing if you can train them to do the work then why don’t the ones here ever clean up??

Oh well they say it takes allsorts to make a world and on my ventures into the paranormal and the unknown I have certainly met different types.
